Comprehensive innovations in driving, wheel suspension, springs, shock absorbers and braking technology require extensive testing on public roads in the BMW Group’s test centers in Miramas, in the south from France, in the Swedish city of Arjeplog, as well as on a number of different circuits. .
Traditionally, the Nürburgring Nordschleife has set the standard for the perfect interaction between drive and suspension technology in every situation. However, because the performance of a BMW M automobile has to convince not only there, but also on the most varied track profiles, the test engineers always expand the test program to include other circuits such as the current tests with camouflaged prototypes of the new BMW M3 Sedan and new BMW M4 Coupé at Sachsenring.
A few months before their world premiere in mid-September 2020, the dynamic potential of the new BMW M3 Sedan and the new BMW M4 Coupé is already clearly perceptible. Inspiring agility, exceptional dynamics and precisely controllable handling, even in extreme sports situations, characterize their driving behavior. Thanks to a meticulously implemented test program, the development and test engineers at BMW M GmbH are currently ensuring that the M-specific suspension components are adapted to the engine performance to such an extent that they guarantee the new BMW M3 Sedan and the new BMW M4. Coupé ranks first in the starting grid in their vehicle segment. The approximately 3,670-meter section of the traditionally known Sachsenring, which is known as the long-standing site of the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) racing series, also provides the ideal conditions for this.
