When BMW gives one of its vehicles a Competition badge, the company does not think twice. The X3M competition already claims more than 500 horses (372 kilowatts) from the factory. However, Manhart tuning engineers did not think it was nearly enough. In a new YouTube video, AutoTopNL presents the capabilities of the vehicle on the highway.
For starters, Manhart found another 135 hp (100 kW) and 136 lb-ft (185 Newton meters) of torque from the X3’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine. These performance increases mean that the Manhart X3 is capable of completing the climb at 100 km / h (62 mph) in just over four seconds, which is a powerful figure for a vehicle in its form factor. During testing, AutoTopNL enabled the fast Bimmer to reach a top speed of 185 mph (295 km / h).
In addition to making the X3 faster, the German tuner gave the car a completely new exhaust system. The new hoses give the vehicle a deep baritone sound that would resonate directly at home around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Towards the end of the video, we are treated with a brief tunnel passage which accentuates the new exhaust note.
In completing the package, it looks like Manhart has also made some improvements to the exterior of the vehicle. At first glance, the most notable edition is a new set of black wheels. With the new shoes, the vehicle also receives a Manhart graphics pack. The black X3 in the video is accompanied by copper accents around the vehicle.
