Crossovers and SUVs today are far from what they were before. They have turned into speed machines, so powerful that they can even match supercars in terms of output power.
Among all the performance SUVs on the market today, the Volkswagen group has a lot on its list, coming from four different brands under its umbrella. These are the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, Audi RS Q8, Bentley Bentayga W12 and Lamborghini Urus.
All of these huge SUVs use VW’s MLB platform, but of course they all vary in terms of weight, gearboxes and horsepower. Which of these nameplates is the fastest in a drag race?
In a way, Carwow has managed to collect all these SUVs and organize an online race to see which one reigns supreme. But before watching the video, here is an overview of the numbers.
The Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, but draws additional power from an electric motor for a combined power of 671 horsepower (500 kilowatts) and 664 foot-pounds (900 Newton meters) of couple. He tipped the scales at 5,655 pounds (2,565 kilograms).
The Urus, on the other hand, is also powered by the same, albeit slightly optimized, twin-turbo V8 of 4.0 liters, but only produces 641 hp (478 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torsion. It is much lighter than the Porsche at 2250 kg (4850 lb).
The Audi RS Q8 is the least powerful of the lot, although it uses the same V8 biturbo as that of the Porsche and the Lambo. It produces 592 hp (441 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, pulling its curb weight of 5,104 lb (2,315 kg).
Finally, the Bentley Bentayga here is probably the most unique. Aside from the installed body kits, it is powered by the famous W12 twin-turbo engine which produces 600 hp (447 kW) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of traction, weighing around 5,379 lb (2,440 kg).
So which of these high performance SUVs from the VW group won this four-way drag race? Watch the video above to find out.
