Tuned Audi RS3 Takes on BMW M2 CS and AMG A45 S in Drag Race

When it comes to small performance luxury vehicles, it is very clear that automakers are much more invested and serious. Examples like the new BMW M2 CS, the Audi RS3 and the Mercedes-AMG A45 S, offer stunning performance in smaller packages for space-limited luxury car buyers. These impressive machines also benefit from reduced weight and more agile handling thanks to their small footprint. So who builds the best of the breed? Well a carwow drag race should help us find a winner.

First up we have the BMW M2 CS which builds on the impressive M2 Competition and adds the same engine from the BMW M4 Competition, carbon fiber trims, and a revised suspension and brake package. This mighty coupe packs 450 horsepower under the hood and gets the little BMW to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The M2 CS is one of the most exciting modern BMWs, integrating the best technology into a small BMW coupe. There is also an option for the gold wheels which are also fantastic.

The 421 horsepower Mercedes-AMG A45 S is the world’s most powerful hot hatch and an impressive machine in all automotive segments. The A45 S’s 2.0-liter inline-4 is one of the most impressive engines AMG has built and lifts the hot hatch to the level of a supercar. The A45 sends all that power through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission mated to an all-wheel drive system.

Finally, we have the Audi RS3 or the ultimate expression of classic Audi performance machines. Powered by an inline 5 turbocharged engine, the RS3 develops 394 horsepower in stock trim and has a unique exhaust note. The car in question in this video was tuned to 450 horsepower with a simple plug, intercooler, and tuning file to extract that extra horsepower.

When it comes to race results, the tuned Audi RS3 gets off to an impressive start and dwarfs the A45 S from the line. The rear-wheel-drive M2 CS took a while to get going but eventually caught up as the race went on thanks to its powerful engine. The end results were incredibly close, but in the end we are all winners.
