Swede Emotion: The Koenigsegg Regera Takes the Spotlight in Action-Packed Video
Christian von Koenigsegg clearly needs a new creative outlet. The founder of the hypercar company that bears his name is apparently so bored that he turned to making films about his cars. No doubt, Koenigsegg makes stellar automobiles. But what we’re not too sure about are Koenigsegg chops. Still, with so many movies on hiatus these days, we’re thankful for any type of entertainment. Especially the type where super sports cars burn a little rubber.
The whole mini-film is based on the idea that someone would want to steal the last Regera never made – a Koenigsegg car whose man seems pretty protective. Fearing the worst, the head of the company hides the last Regera in a clearly false military base and hires lazily absurd henchmen to ward off potential thieves. It is going as well as expected, and the result is pretty obvious once the helmet has put on its Koenigsegg Beats helmet, which we did not know existed until now.
Aside from the fact that the 10-minute video gives off serious vibes from 1970s adult movies, it’s fun to watch and has a decent amount of action. There is a Regera tearing apart what we assume to be Koenigsegg’s test track and a Volvo flying over a barricade in an explosion of fire. It is clearly a celebration of excellence in Swedish engineering and Koenigsegg flavored energy drinks (watch the video, you will understand).
That said, we appreciate the good people at Koenigsegg who are just trying to have a little fun with their downtime. Plus, we now know how easy it is to steal a multi-million dollar Koenigsegg. Not that we condone such action.
