It seems that those who want the Chevrolet Silverado to have a lot more power to pick up other inflated pickups will get their wish. That’s not to say that the Silverado lacked for nothing, really, and with more than 250,000 sales in the first half of 2020 alone, it’s pretty safe to say that it’s still a good truck. But for those looking to smoke unsuspecting drivers with unnecessarily high power and torque figures, but who can keep some practical points, there is the Yenko S / C Silverado of Specialized Vehicle Engineering (SVE). Because who doesn’t love the most outrageous microphones?
Spotted for the first time by Dupont Registry, SVE worked closely with Chevrolet and its Silverado to create a van on steroids. The close working relationship has given SVE the first contacts on a large part of the GM product range, including vehicles that have not yet been launched, and even the engines that we may not fully know. The project started a year ago and takes a lot of the knowledge and technology drawn from SVE’s expertise in the turbocharging applications of the Camaro and the GMC Syclone.

The Yenko S / C Silverado uses a 6.2-liter V8 that is handcrafted but familiar with forged internal parts and CNC-port heads. This engine is coupled to an improved transmission with new clutches and a custom torque converter. Output power is rated at 800 horsepower (597 kW) and 720 lb-ft (976 Nm) of torque. Suspension improvements, tuned exhaust and an option between 2WD and 4WD can also be offered. Huge Brembo brakes come out behind the 22-inch SVE wheels, with custom color options for the former and three optional finishes for the latter.
The SVE Yenko S / C Silverado can be ordered and serviced at any Chevy dealer, but you will have to hurry because SVE only builds 50 copies. The price has not yet been announced, but we will keep an eye on.
