Suzuki Jimny Black Bison Edition Is a Jeep, Bronco, and Land Rover Mashup
Along with the Ford Ranger Raptor, the Suzuki Jimny is one of the most sought after all-terrain vehicles that we don’t get here in the U.S. While the Jimny is generally known for its spartan and rugged charm, the folks at Japanese outfitter Wald International made the small 4×4 more flashy with additional off-road design cues and a chic interior.
Up front, the Suzuki Jimny Black Bison Edition features a new grille with headlight covers. The front bumper receives new LED lights and additional lighting elements can be found on the roof. A special aerodynamic hood adds to the more aggressive look. At the rear there is a new bumper panel and a new spoiler. Reinforced fenders and all-terrain tires are also hard to ignore.
Inside the cabin, Wald offers a lot of luxury. In addition to the quilted leather seats, you’ll see plush carpeting and a uniquely designed steering wheel. Exterior and interior upgrades are also available for the larger Jimny Sierra.
The Jimny range offers a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine developing 101 hp. This engine pairs with a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual. Off-roaders will appreciate the four-wheel drive with low-end gearing and coil-spring solid axles front and rear.
Wald has given the Black Bison treatment to a wide range of vehicles, including the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class and the Toyota Hilux. The blacked out design is a bit unexpected for the modest Jimny, and that’s what sets it apart from the crowd.
