See Oldsmobile LSS And Other Old $1,500 Cars Tackle Rallycross Course

Rallycross is one of the most exciting forms of racing you’ve probably never heard of. The sport’s highest level offers a mix of clean and orderly asphalt driving with side-to-side rally action, all on the same course. In her latest video, YouTubers from Excluding motor sports took a collection of $ 1,500 cars and beat them on their local rallycross circuit.

While the popular interpretation of the sport is organized like a time trial and leaves out driving on asphalt, it is clear that the atmosphere on the track is light and fun. With just $ 1,500 at stake, drivers could race their way without worrying about destroying their vehicles. Even after day one at Summit Point Motorsports Park, some of the racing newbies clearly caught the driving bug, addicted to the pursuit of speed on the track.

Contestants for the challenge include an Oldsmobile LSS, Mercedes-Benz S320 W140, Toyota Corolla wagon, Toyota Camry wagon, Mercedes-Benz 190E, and Volvo S70 T5M. Although all of these vehicles could not be more different, they share the quality of being very inexpensive.

With the punishment these vehicles endured in every race, we were surprised at the reliability of the majority of contenders. The first car to have trouble was the Corolla, not the gremlins you’d expect. While the initial thought was that the front wheels would separate, the engine was the first thing to explode.

Semantics aside, this video is the perfect proof that you don’t need a ton of money to have fun in a car. It was a real treat throughout the video to see slow motion pictures of everyday vehicles heroes squeezing through the dirt.
