Ring Breaks Into Car Security Business, Announces Tesla Partnership

Tech companies are no stranger to transcendence in the automotive sector. One of the oldest of these was the Japanese Pioneer, which started out as an audio equipment company, then entered the automotive industry in 1975 with the world’s first car stereo. And of course, Apple is one of the most popular, with its CarPlay now available in almost all new vehicles.

Amazon is pretty much on the same path as Ring. The home security company announces three new products for cars, along with other innovations in the extended extravagance of Amazon devices and services.

Rings enters the automotive safety sector

The new Ring products – named Ring Car Alarm, Ring Car Cam and Ring Car Connect – will be available next year. Its first car brand partner would be Tesla (no surprise here), with the Ring Car Connect being used in Tesla’s lineup in 2021 for $ 199.99.

Ring Car Alarm is pretty much your typical car alarm except it’s an OBD-II wireless device and can be connected to the Ring app, other Ring devices, or even Amazon hardware. Alexa. The Ring Car Cam, on the other hand, provides an extra pair of eyes in your car, even when it’s unoccupied. It can work via wifi or LTE via add-on plan and offers emergency accident detection, traffic stop recording and even control of your parked car.

Ring Car Connect complements the two mentioned products through an API that allows customers to access mobile alerts when needed. This includes movements detected around the vehicle or even watching video footage recorded by the cameras. It can even detect whether your car is locked or not.

As mentioned, these three new Ring products will be available starting next year, priced at $ 59.99 for the Ring Car Alarm, while Ring Car Cam and Car Connect will both cost $ 199.99 each – additional connectivity plans. excluded.
