Barely a year ago, Porsche confirmed the existence of the E Cross Turismo, which at the time was supposed to be a crossover concept based on Taycan’s already powerful platform. The first of many platform-based derivatives, Cross Turismo is nearing its launch in late 2020, with a good number of test mules already spotted in recent months to perform their usual road tests and show this latest iteration Taycan from Porsche is about ready for production.
The latest spy video is a short snippet of a person recording on the German highway who was lucky enough to catch a Taycan Cross Turismo sporting this strange taillight camouflage we have seen before. Although the video lasts a little less than a minute, it gives us a good overview of the rear of the electric station wagon. Just as we reported before, these mules seem to be exactly what we will get very soon, with Porsche still unwilling to reveal the complete redesign of the one-piece LED taillight strip which is similar to that of the regular Taycan. If anything, this paperwork looks a bit like a raccoon and draws more attention to the tail lights than anything else.
Of course, it looks as stylish as ever and is essentially a Taycan with a longer roof and cargo space. Not bad at all. As with the regular Taycan, we can expect similar, if not identical, versions with the Taycan 4S, the Taycan Turbo and the Taycan Turbo S with powers between 530 horsepower (395 kilowatts) and 761 hp (567 kW). We can also expect similar handling performance, extremely fast acceleration and all-wheel drive as standard.
We will learn more in time, and little has been said about the other versions of the Porsche Taycan. One thing is certain, however; you can expect Porsche to be on the front line of EV racing for a while.
