A large passenger car is supposed to be able to jump on the highway at high speed while keeping the occupants comfortable. Judging by this video from AutoTopNL, the Porsche Panamera GTS is able to easily meet these requirements.
The driver plays with the Panamera GTS from a dead stop on the side of the road and uses the launch control to obtain a quick start. From there, the Porsche only gains speed. The acceleration is impressive and does not really seem to slow down until after the change to sixth gear.
The speedometer shows the Panamera GTS reaching 288 kilometers per hour (179 miles per hour). It’s very close to Porsche’s official top speed for it of 182 mph (292 km / h).
The Panamera GTS contains a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 developing 460 horsepower (343 kilowatts). It can reach 60 mph (96 km / h) in 3.9 seconds. This model also comes standard with an adaptive air suspension modified with a lower ride height.
There is also a GTS version of the Panamera Sport Turismo station wagon. It is mechanically identical to the other body style. Due to the different aerodynamics, the top speed drops to 180 mph (289 km / h).
The Panamera GTS currently sells for $ 129,300 (plus destination fees of $ 1,350). In the model range, the GTS grade is between the 4S and the Turbo.
Porsche is currently working on a style refresh for the Panamera. Spy photos tell us not to expect revolutionary style changes. The most obvious changes are the new headlights and taillights. Inside, there is a new steering wheel. Modifications to the powertrain are a mystery at this point. Look for the updated model to get started fairly quickly.
