Porsche Macan Spied Getting Ready For Yet Another Facelift
The Macan is one of Porsche’s best-selling models. In fact, it helped the company deliver strong results in 2019, when it sold more than double SUVs than cars in the United States. We all know that a brand new Macan is in the works, but it turns out the Stuttgart-based company isn’t quite ready to ditch the current model just yet.
The new all-electric Macan will go into production in 2022, but Porsche knows that not all markets around the world are ready to embrace electrification. For these regions, the automaker will continue to sell the current generation model, which will get a further update after the full facelift in 2018.
These spy plans confirm that the visual revisions will be minor. Expect a typical light makeover with modified bumpers and revised headlights. Our spies believe the side mirrors in the Sport Design Pack could become standard equipment for all trim levels, but we can’t confirm that at this time.
More noticeable changes will occur inside the cabin. The center console will be redesigned to fit Porsche’s latest buttonless layout with a large display and we also spotted a new steering wheel, which looks a lot like that of the refurbished Panamera. Upgrades to the driver’s infotainment system and digital cluster are likely in the cards as well.

It will be interesting to see how Porsche’s plans change regarding the next generation Macan. We won’t be surprised if the manufacturer pushes back development of the EV slightly to leave more room for the refreshed current generation Macan in the market. Still, the model is expected to be on track to debut at some point in 2022.
