Bugatti is said to be building a unique Chiron roadster, according to a new report by TheSupercarBlog. Details on the exclusive model are scarce, although the publication reports that the new Chiron model will be priced at £ 9 million ($ 11 million) before the taxes. The arrival of such a model, an open-top Chiron, is logical because we have not yet seen one from the custom-made French car manufacturer.
We have contacted Bugatti to confirm that he is developing the model, and we will update the story if we hear. Car manufacturers are not eager to comment on future products. However, it would not be the first open-top Bugatti. When the automaker produced the Veyron, it offered the Grand Sport. It was not a unique model, however, as this Chiron would be.
An interesting part of the report is that the publication said: [open-top] Chiron is offered to customers. This gives the impression that it is more than a single model. However, this does not mean that it cannot have a super limited production cycle. The high price suggests that it will be somewhat exclusive.
TheSupercarBlog believes the open-top Chiron could be something special too, suggesting a speedster-like model with a wraparound windshield – think Veyron Barchetta – could be what Bugatti is developing. The automaker has had little qualms about expanding the Chiron range with new consumer and exclusive models. Well, as common as Bugatti.
The open-top Chiron would join a field already overflowing with other Bugatti models. Since the introduction of the Chiron for 2016, Bugatti has introduced several new models such as the Chiron Pur Sport and Super Sport 300+. Then there are the exclusives like the Divo and Centodieci. A convertible version, whether following the Grand Sport route or Veyron Barchetta, would be perfect. We doubt that Bugatti has trouble finding interested customers.
