Mercedes Confirms New C-Class For 2021 With S-Class Goodies
All eyes were on Mercedes-Benz recently as they launched their engine of a full-size luxury sedan, the 2021 S-Class. New powertrain options, slight design changes and even more interior amenities, these in-depth updates go a long way, with almost every facet of the S-Class being updated to keep it at the top of its game. But don’t think for a moment that Mercedes forgot to do the same with the 2021 C-Class. Of course, just like the months leading up to the S-Class, details were pretty scarce, but Cars Guide recently learned that we can. at least expect similar levels of standard equipment and technology.
Their source is none other than Ola Kaellenius, chairman of the board of the Daimler group. Kallenius hinted that the C-Class was heavily influenced by the new S-Class, with a few innovations debuting like a rumored diesel-hybrid option for European markets and an electrified AMG engine. “Back then, many years ago now, the logic at Mercedes was ‘we got it in the S-Class’ – it happens every seven or eight years – and then we have a gradual trickle down to the low, ”he said. I’ve strayed from that philosophy already, I would say, in the last five to seven years. We’ve come by to say that every new architecture or every major model receives an innovation. This week we’re talking about the S-Class, but to illustrate it, next year is coming the new C-Class. He even goes so far as to say that the C-Class will essentially be a smaller S-Class.

The S-Class adopted many of the features found in non-flagship models, such as the A-Class’s MBUX infotainment system in 2018, but took it a step further. This idea of not having all the goodies in a single flagship means that, in Kaellenius’ words, Mercedes is able to deploy and democratize innovations much faster. “We’re trickling down quickly, and we’ve developed an engineering system whereby the innovations we launch can get to other vehicles very quickly.”
With more information to come on the 2021 C-Class later this year, we can expect the midsize sedan to be revealed in the middle of 2021. We hope we have the same nifty infotainment system as well as this head. of augmented reality. up display.
