Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Full Debut Set For July 15
The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series will make its official debut on July 15. It is the first new Merc to carry the Black Series label since the SLS AMG version of the 2014 model year.
If you want to see the AMG GT Black Series, watch the teaser video with Shmee150 showing the coupe without camouflage. It is an aggressive looking machine. There is a large separator in front. The wings carry louvers. The hood has two huge vents on the sides and a small scoop in the center. A gigantic, two-level dominates the style of the rear.
What goes on under the hood remains a mystery. The main rumor is that a twin-turbo V8 produces up to 720 horsepower (536 kilowatts) and 627 pound-feet (850 newton meters) of torque. If these figures are correct, the Black Series is a leap forward compared to the existing AMG GT R with 577 hp (430 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm).
Although there are no official details yet, it is safe to expect that additional power will be provided with the usual range of suspension and brake upgrades. Lower ride height, stiffer springs, improved shock absorbers, and larger calipers all seem to be improvements Mercedes-AMG engineers would bring to the new Black Series.
People operating a Nüburgring taxi company claim that the GT Black Series can get around the Nordschleife in 6 minutes and 58 seconds. In comparison, the GT R completes a circuit in 7 minutes 10 seconds.
The price is also unknown, but the figure is most likely higher than the base price of the AMG GT R of $ 162,900. A figure close to $ 200,000 would not be surprising if the rumors about the performance of the coupe turned out to be correct.
