Maserati Ghibli Hybrid Teasers Keep Piling Up Leading To July 16 Debut
As early as January of this year, the first rumor of an electrified Maserati Ghibli came out. This came hand in hand with a report on the refurbished version of the mid-size luxury sedan which is expected to debut this year. The two aren’t rumors now, and it looks like Maserati isn’t holding back on teasing its first electrified model.
Posted on the official Maserati Facebook page, the Italian brand showed two 10-second teasers of the Ghibli hybrid, showing pieces of its production skin through an electrifying spectacle. It should be noted that Maserati has been teasing for the past month, and yes, with the lightning involved – one that even hit Modena’s headquarters.
As mentioned, the new teasers somehow reveal elements of production of the Ghibli hybrid. However, you would be disappointed to know that there is not too much of a design gap from its current outgoing model. At least that’s what we saw on the short clips, but we’ll know more at launch, of course.
It should be noted, however, that there will be slight changes to come for the bumpers, side vents and the emblem itself. If you visit the official Maserati website at this time when the countdown is placed, you will notice that the Trident logo is underlined by a blue arrow, symbolizing the electrified powertrain.
There is little information on the Ghibli hybrid, but we know it will be a plugin hybrid model, or at least there will be one that needs to be plugged in. It will also pave the way for more electrified cars from Modena, as stated in the company’s roadmap until 2023.
More details on the first Maserati hybrid will be presented at the launch, which is scheduled for July 16, 2020, at exactly 1:00 p.m. CET (7:00 a.m. EDT).
