Sant’Agata Bolognese is pretty busy right now. After unveiling and leaking the world with juicy bits on the SCV12 race car, which carries the brand’s most powerful V12 to date, Lamborghini is preparing to reveal another.
The announcement was made via a teaser which came without any image of the next vehicle to be unveiled. However, he came up with specific details, such as the launch date and time, which would be July 8, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. CEST (12:00 p.m. EDT).
There is nothing to see in the Lamborghini teaser, except the copy which reads “In advance of its time”. Although it is difficult to speculate on the supercar that the Italian brand will reveal in a few days, these four words could in fact indicate a derivative or a variant of the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 launched last year.
When the Sian made its debut, which is the first electrified bull, Lamborghini’s chief designer, Mitja Borkert, called him a “futuristic icon” after declaring that he was inspired by the Countach. Although the link between this statement and the car to come is a bit distant at this point, an earlier report released last month further supported the case.
A report by The Supercarblog says a Sian FKP 37 roadster is planned, but rumor also suggests that all units have already been sold. Details on the Sian roadster are scarce at this point, but it’s safe to say that it will be priced higher than its coupe version priced at $ 3.6 million.
Take this speculation with a grain of salt, however. We will know the truth in a few days, so watch this space.
