Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster Getting PPF Is A Must-See

For the uninitiated, Topaz Detailing is one of the few companies that sets the industry standard when it comes to keeping a car spotless. In its latest video, the masters of automotive polishing got their hands on the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 roadster to apply a paint protection film.

As you may have noticed by now, the vehicle features many different materials with very different finishes, which makes it extremely difficult to apply the PPF without altering the factory appearance. To add complexity to the already large work, the owner wanted not only the exterior to be covered, but also interior items like the door cards.

Unfortunately for you purists, the video completely ignores the initial phase of washing or “decontamination” as they would call it. That aside, if Topaz’s detailing pedigree weren’t already apparent, they use pre-cut pieces of their own “stealth PPF” designed and manufactured with satin paint in mind. For other parts of the vehicle like the exposed carbon fiber panels, the guys went for a brighter film to match the factory look. After several hours of sucking pesky bubbles off surfaces, the end product is truly a sight to behold.

Other than that, the number in the Lambo’s name honors the company’s birth year and means only 63 of the roadsters and hardtops will ever be made. With its 6.5-liter V12 engine leaving 770 horsepower (574 kilowatts) available at the driver’s right foot, it’s certainly as fast as it is rare. Somehow, the UK retail company got their hands on the very first roadster variant to roll off the production line – without pressure. Fortunately, every install comes with a 5 year warranty if the film starts to turn yellow, lift, or crack.

As always, this is great video proof of how advanced paint protection film technology has been since its introduction not too long ago – it’s not perfect but wow, is it – what satisfying to watch it applied to a priceless Italian supercar.
