One of the many talents of the Wrangler and the Gladiator is of course the off-road. Both Jeep products have a reputation for conquering the less traveled roads, most people (we think) buy them because of this estimated capacity.
FCA, in particular Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP), want to improve this further by introducing an official lift kit for both models. While spare parts for off-roading are plentiful on the market, this officially comes from the brand, which means you won’t be able to void your warranty.
Mopar and JPP 2 Inch Factory Lift Kit
There is, however, a small problem. The factory lift kit is only available for Jeep models with EcoDiesel engines.
“Our complete Jeep lineup includes over 500 factory-designed and quality-tested all-terrain parts and accessories,” said Mark Bosanac, Mopar After-Sales Manager, Parts and Customer Service, FCA – North America.
The lift kit includes four Fox shocks, front lower suspension arms, front and rear stabilizer links, front and rear thrust bumpers, various mountings and a JPP badge. These are packaged in a reusable wooden crate with the Jeep branding.
Needless to say, the lift kit adds to the off-road capability of both vehicles by increasing the suspension articulation by 18%. Fox aluminum monotube shocks are tuned for increased weight capacity, durability and cooling in off-road conditions, while the springs are specially designed for diesel engine applications. The front lower suspension arms are also longer than the stock to provide ideal caster settings, the heavy-duty bushings provide better vehicle control and aid in suspension articulation. The best part is that the whole kit does not require any drilling, cutting or welding.
The JPP Wrangler Lift Kit (Part Number: 77072399AE) is now available for purchase, but the JPP Gladiator Lift Kit (Part Number: 77072469AC) will be available by the end of the summer. Both kits come with an MSRP of $ 1,495 and a two-year / unlimited mile warranty or up to the remaining warranty period of the new vehicle.
