Jeep Compass 4xe, Renegade 4xe Plug-In Hybrids Tricked Out By Mopar
Jeep just launched some unusual models last week that aren’t destined for the United States. The Jeep Compass 4xe and Renegade 4xe saw the light of day – made in Italy but intended for sale in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Of course, Mopar is wasting no time cheating on these new Jeep models. In an official release, Mopar, FCA’s official tuning brand, announces a host of upgrades for the two plug-in hybrid Jeep SUVs.
For starters, Mopar said buyers of the Renegade 4xe and Compass 4xe are spoiled for choice between genuine accessories and Jeep performance parts. In total, more than 100 accessories will be available, each “designed to highlight the dual urban and all-terrain personality of the new 4xe models”.
The headliner is the Mopar 4xe Pack, designed to enhance the electric nature of plug-in hybrids. Upgrades include blue styling accents on the hood and mirror caps, as well as a blue ring in one of the seven-slot grille. A dedicated set of premium mats will also be available.
Mopar also had a hand with the Renegade 4xe and Compass 4xe charging options. For starters, there’s seamless integration between a smartphone and the Uconnect system’s 8.4-inch touchscreen to manage charging on the go.
Here are the charging options: at home, with a domestic socket and the supplied cable, or at a public charging station using the specific “Mode 3” cable. Mopar also markets easyWallbox in Europe – a charging solution designed to optimize charging time and provide a safe, additional and convenient solution in the home.
It is a plug-and-play solution manageable via Bluetooth, allowing the Renegade 4xe or Compass 4xe to be recharged with up to 2.3 kW of charging power in under five hours at home.
