Infiniti QX60 Monograph Previews the Next QX60 Three-Row SUV
As the best-selling Infiniti model, the QX60 crossover is the brand’s most prominent vehicle in its lineup. It’s also arguably Infiniti’s most forgettable model. The Japanese luxury brand looks set to reveal a more memorable new version of the crossover SUV on September 24, when it releases the QX60 monograph prototype batch.
While little is known about the vehicle, a recent QX60 monograph teaser image reveals a crossover with raised headlights, distinct LED daytime running lights and the required backlit grille badge. In short, the monograph seems to cripple the front styling of the larger QX80, body-on-frame, but softens it somewhat for duty on the more car-like QX60 unibody.
Similar to the 2017 QX80 monograph concept, which largely mirrored the appearance of the 2018 production-intended QX80, we expect the QX60 monograph to differ little from its upcoming production counterpart. With the exception of some salon car kits, such as large wheels, additional LED lights, and a coat of paint on top, the QX60 monograph is expected to present a glimpse of the same crossover that luxury consumers can check into. months to come.
As with the current QX60, the new model will surely carry the likes of standard third row seats, available all-wheel drive, and a reasonable starting price (the 2020 model decals for $ 45,375). What ultimately powers the next QX60 remains a mystery, however, we’re betting that today’s crossover’s 295-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 is giving way to a variant of the smaller turbocharged 2.0 four-cylinder engine. liters of the 268-hp QX50. or the 310-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 from the Nissan Frontier pickup. Also look for a gasoline-electric hybrid variant to join the line. Either way, expect the new QX60 to exclusively use a continuously variable automatic transmission.
We’ll find out later this month if the new QX60 is looking to shed the rather bland image of its predecessor. Either way, we’re sure the QX60 monograph features a vehicle that will likely remain Infiniti’s bestseller in the United States.
