SEOUL, September 24, 2020 – Hyundai Motor Company today unveiled the IONIQ Concept Cab, its latest take on future customer experiences in electric vehicles. The concept cabin offers the transformation of Hyundai transport vehicles into a personalized mobility solution adapted to different lifestyles.

Hyundai plans to take advantage of the abundant interior space and vast power capacity of electric vehicles to integrate electronics and home appliances into its future IONIQ models, all customizable to suit customers’ needs and lifestyles. .

The IONIQ concept cabin made in partnership with LG Electronics offers a glimpse of what is possible in electric vehicle interiors. For example, “Clothing Care” and “Shoes Butler” will allow customers to handle mundane tasks on the go, while enjoying the content of the 77-inch flexible OLED screen mounted on the ceiling. The screen is large enough that two people can enjoy different content simultaneously. Sound is pumped through the headrest speakers which create the personal sound zone. In addition, a floor cleaning robot as well as the revised UV LED lamps ensure that the cabin is kept clean and disinfected.

Hyundai plans to deliver such value-added experiences starting with IONIQ 5, a dedicated electric vehicle slated for launch early next year.

“The IONIQ concept cabin is one of a kind and is an unprecedented approach to enhancing the customer experience, as it can be customized for different needs and lifestyles,” said Wonhong Cho, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Hyundai Motor Company Global. “Dedicated electric vehicles will allow us to revolutionize the experience that Hyundai offers to its customers, allowing them to do more inside and outside vehicles.”

Hyundai plans to become a leader in the era of electrified mobility with its recently launched IONIQ dedicated electric vehicle lineup brand. IONIQ vehicles will be installed on E-GMP (Electronic Global Modular Platform), Hyundai’s dedicated EV platform, enabling the company to deliver an unprecedented experience in and out of vehicles.
