Here’s The Craziest 2020 Corvette C8 Wrap We’ve Ever Seen
It wasn’t long after the start of deliveries of the 2020 Chevy Corvette before owners saw changes to their new mid-engined sports car. Production began in early February, and even the coronavirus pandemic couldn’t stop deliveries – or production – so owners’ YouTube videos and social media posts continue to showcase how they’re personalizing their new ride. We’ve seen vinyl wrap on a Corvette before, although it wasn’t as wild as this one.
The above envelope is anything but subtle. Then again, the Corvette’s styling wasn’t either, with the sharp aesthetic introduced on the C7 carried over and extended to the C8. Yellow appears to be the most prominent color, although it is mixed with purple and light blue, with a little bit of black helping to separate the clash of colors. It covers the car’s original Shadow Gray Metallic paint, which is quite different from the volume of the trim.

The video above shows the finishing touches added before the customer takes delivery, with a few crew members discussing the challenge of packing the Corvette. There were several sore spots like the rear hatch trim, front and rear bumpers, and sides which make up almost the entire car which turns out to be difficult to wrap around if you think about it. The sharp shape and angular styling of the Corvette isn’t a win-win for everyone, it would.
This style of packaging is unlikely to become a favorite at the local monthly Cars & Coffee meetup anytime soon. Such a disregard for subtlety is rarely everyone’s cup of tea, and something so strong and unique could elicit vocal reactions as well. We are in 2020 and the Internet exists. A wrap is an easy way to make your car stand out from the crowd, going far beyond what a new paint job could offer in terms of customization. And sometimes you just have to think outside the box.
