Here’s The BMW M5 CS Before You’re Supposed To See It

A new spy video (integrated below) gives an overview of the next BMW M5 CS, including an overview of the engine compartment and cabin. There is not a bit of camouflage except for a protective coating on the front seats.

This M5 CS has a satin black body which gives the exterior a subtly aggressive appearance. It rolls on matching wheels with V-shaped spokes. The CS badge is visible on the front wing outlet trim when the camera scans the side of the sedan. The clip also shows carbon fiber mirror caps and a thick-brimmed steering wheel covered in Alcantara.

Earlier spy shots showed the M5 CS with a slightly different exterior. This one had copper-colored wheels and a small spoiler for the trunk lid. It was also easier to see the suspension lowered. Other adjustments would have ceramic brakes and a CFRP roof.

Instagram post says the model contains 650 horsepower. Assuming this is a reference to metric horsepower, this fits perfectly with an earlier rumor that the M5 CS produced 641 hp (478 kilowatts or 650 PS). The engine would be an optimized version of the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 of the M5, which produces 617 hp (460 kW) in the existing Competition model.

With additional horsepower, the M5 CS is expected to reduce the standard model’s ability to reach 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in just 3.1 seconds in just a few tenths. The suspension settings and ceramic brakes should also make the sedan sharper when cornering.

The M5 CS would debut before the end of the year. Seeing this completely finished example suggests that these rumors are correct. The additional CS performance parts mean that the price would be even higher than the price of $ 111,100 for the U21 2021 competition.
