Crossovers and SUVs continue to dominate new car sales. With such success comes those who want to take their vehicle to the next level, and for some that means spending time camping. Rooftop tents are popular, allowing the roof of a vehicle to become the bedroom for the night. Go Fast Campers has a new offering called SuperLite which the company considers the lightest hardtop tent available.
The tent weighs around 80 pounds (36 kilograms), which makes it easy to set up. Go Fast Campers claims you can set up the tent yourself in under three minutes. It is thin too, measuring between four and six inches thick, depending on the bedding; however, it remains spacious. It has a sleeping area of 50 inches (127 centimeters) by 90 inches (228 centimeters) with an opening of 40 inches (101 cm) and 44 inches (111) of headroom. It is large enough for two adults and a pet or a child.
According to the Go Fast Campers website, the company “took away all unnecessary elements and refined the shape and use of the material” in the quest for the lightest hardtop tent. During the design process, the company took a prototype south of the border to fly the NORRA Mexican 1000 where it served as a comfortable resting place for the pilots.
Go Fast Campers is selling the new SuperLite tent for $ 1,299. For an additional $ 100, the company will add a telescopic ladder. Add $ 279 and the company throws a mattress. Customers can pre-order the tent now, although estimated delivery won’t begin until November of this year. However, if you order before August 15th, Go Fast Campers will throw you a garage poster. There are a lot of vehicles this could adorn, like the new Land Rover Defender or the highly anticipated 2021 Ford Bronco.
