The GMC Hummer EV is coming – we just don’t know exactly when, but we do know it will be this fall. As anticipation grows for the electrifying return of the nameplate, more and more information about it is released. The latest is the design of its wheel which was reportedly leaked online.
Out of the secret by GM Authority, the alleged image below shows the wheel design of the upcoming Hummer EV. It’s worth noting that the leaked image (left) is different from what the teaser video showed us last month (right).
Although the wheel design is different, we can’t help but notice that the alleged leak image is smaller in diameter than the teased version, which is based solely on the tire profile.
The illustration above is said to have been taken from an image obtained by the GM publication. The entire photo shows the entire platform of the upcoming Hummer EV, which shows electric motors in the front and rear, as well as GM’s Ultium battery which is said to provide long range and good efficiency. Whether this will be true to the production Hummer EV is something that remains to be seen.
For the uninitiated, the next Hummer EV will arrive in two versions: a pickup truck and an SUV. It will be built alongside the new Cadillac Escalade at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck, Michigan assembly plant. If that’s not obvious, the new GMC Hummer will be fully electric and produce up to 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of axle torque, according to the company.
We’re sure to see the 2022 GMC Hummer EV in about a few weeks, but production on the returning icon won’t begin until a year later in fall 2021.
