Genesis GV70 Spied Up Close In Korea In New Video
We all know Genesis is set to reveal a new compact crossover to fit under the GV80. Dubbed the GV70, it follows the offensive the Korean luxury brand has employed in recent months, and it has been spotted again in testing in its home country of South Korea.
The GV70 was first spied on almost a year ago at the Nürburgring. Since then, several sightings have taken place, including a flat ride at Green Hell. But just like the previous spy photos, the GV70 is here shrouded in thick camouflage, showing only bits of information we already know.
First, the GV70 will adopt the two-level lighting that the GV80 and G80 carry. This has already been confirmed by the official set of teasers we saw at the end of last month. The styling, concealed by a geometrically designed wrap, is akin to the larger GV80, which should be a case for a good looking crossover.
As for the interior, the GV70 can be expected to get what the G70 sedan has, including the massive 10.25-inch infotainment system atop the center console – just like the digital dashboard, wireless charging and live updates, among other tech toys.
Rival BMW X3 and Audi Q5 are expected to be revealed later this year. Three powerhouse options are also expected: 2.5 and 3.5-liter gasoline engines and a 2.2-liter diesel mill, with rear wheel and all-wheel drive options available.
Genesis is said to be doubling its current sedan lineup over the next 12 months with three crossovers. With the GV80 on the market and about to make its showroom debut, and the reveal of the GV70 just around the corner, the only vehicle we expect is the all-electric crossover currently in development.
