Ford Mustang Mach-E By RTR Teased Showing Aftermath Of Sliding Around
RTR Vehicles apparently got their hands on a Ford Mustang Mach-E, and the company is teasing something to announce on July 21.
In the video, the sound of at least one other internal combustion engine also appears to be audible. So everything RTR is working on may not just be about Mach-E. Maybe there is a race between the EV and some other vehicles tuned to society.
The timing of this teaser makes us wonder if this is somehow related to the spy video of a hacked Mach-E test. The two vehicles seem very similar. This clip was particularly suspicious because it seemed too perfect to be authentic. Also, it was the first upload to this YouTube account.
RTR and Ford have a very good relationship, so it’s not out of the question that the tuner can get a Mach-E early. The question remains, however, what the company would do with the EV. The stripped body from the previous video could hint at a styling overhaul that would include a completely different front end and a revised rear end.
Given that RTR has no history of tuning an electric motor, it’s hard to imagine that the company is increasing the power of the Mach-E. Cutting the foreign weight as much as possible would be a way to improve straight line performance. The right tires would also help.
Deliveries of Mach-E begin in the United States before the end of the year. Not all variants are available at launch, such as the high-end GT version with 459 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque.
