Ford Focus Caught Doing 437 MPH By Glitchy Speed Camera

As oil tankers, there is no worse feeling than getting a speeding ticket. Really a stomach turner, but what if a radar catches you doing 703 km / h? Due to a faulty speed camera, an Italian motorist can fill in the blanks.

An article in Offagna, Italy indicates that the speed limit in the region was 43 mph (70 km / h) when the motorist was timed at approximately ten times this rhythm. The Ford Focus obviously didn’t get a lot of gear change, but the police didn’t check the extraordinary numbers and, surprisingly, still issued the fine. It is very unfortunate because the driver was hit with a $ 964 (€ 850) ticket and 10 points on his license.

Although the last exclusive Ford Focus Euro is limited to a top speed of 250 km / h, an engineer should not know that it will not exceed 643 km / h. That said, the new Focus is still very efficient and is considered a real challenger for the Volkswagen Golf GTI. The fast ST Ford is fitted with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine producing 280 horsepower (209 kilowatts).

With a heavy fine on the bridge for the motorist, Giovanni Strologo, spokesman for the local road committee recommended the continuation of the measures to be taken. Surprisingly enough, his advice was do not cancel the charges but accept them and request repair. We will let you decide on this, but we would like to think it will be a story to remember.

What would be your reaction if you were surprised to exceed 634 mph (634 km / h) of the speed limit? Let us know in the comments below.
