Ford has promised to offer hundreds of original accessories for the 2021 Bronco, but the automaker has only shown a few. New information suggests the Blue Oval is preparing an online reveal for the coin’s bounty.
“We can have a virtual event and have a really good impact,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s product development and purchasing manager. Muscle cars and trucks.
Unfortunately, the executive did not give more details on the plans. With the SEMA Show canceled for this year, it’s conceivable that Ford could pick the event’s normal November date to host its Bronco accessory unveiling. The timing would also work well as the Blue Oval intends to start converting reservations for the SUV into actual orders in December.
Getting started in the accessories line before starting to take orders could mean serious gains for Ford and its dealers, as the additional equipment often generates a high profit margin. With over 230,000 bookings to date, that’s a lot of money potentially to be left on the table.
Ford showcased the Bronco accessories with its five Adventure Concepts that featured different themes to customize the SUV. The Trail Rig was an off-roader with tubular doors, a winch roof rack, light bar, and scavenging boards. The fishing guide had a fishing rod holder and a front row top.
For the Bronco Sport, Ford a version of the Trail Rig for the smaller crossover. There was also the Tow RZR with a hitch to carry a Polaris RZR XP Turbo 1000 side-by-side. The Adventure Patrol took a different direction from the rest in preparing the vehicle for off-road rescues.
There will be around 200 factory accessories available for the Bronco, and there will be over 100 for the Bronco Sport. This vast array of equipment means buyers should be able to configure the models for whatever they intend to do with them.
