Ford Bronco 6×6 Truck Rendering Is Pure American Excess
Three different Bronco models and a plethora of trim levels for each were simply not enough for SRK Designs when the independent artist decided to consider a race different from the long-awaited Ford off-roader. Probably inspired by the Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6 bonkers, he launched Photoshop to virtually add a third axle and a bed to the competent SUV.
The end result could give Hennessey some ideas given that the Texas-based tuner has already turned the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss into a 6×6 truck dubbed Goliath and the F-150 into a 6×6 VelociRaptor. Going back in time, the SEMA 1996 show was the place where the Ram 3500 Dually was transformed into a Ram T-Rex 6×6 concept serving as “the first full-time 6×6 light truck designed for personal use”.
The Jeep Wrangler, the Ford Bronco archive, is no stranger to six-wheel conversions, as many aftermarket stores have explored the idea of adding a third axle and a bed, even before arrival of the Gladiator truck at the end of 2018. Example, Rezvani recently announced its Hercules 6×6 as the ultimate pickup with lots of power and all-terrain chops.
It’s the same story with another competitor, the former Defender, with many custom builders eager to create all kinds of wild derivatives based on the renowned British off-roader. With Land Rover not interested in collecting the all-new model, there is likely an untapped market that tuners will likely want to tap into, possibly adding a third axle for good measure.
Just like in the case of the Wrangler, you can be assured that the aftermarket scene has already taken note of the Bronco’s revival and will release all kinds of customizations. It remains to be seen whether a 6×6 conversion is on the task list, but in the meantime, Ford has prepared more than 200 factory-backed accessories to customize the Bronco.
