That said, Base Air starts below $ 80,000. However, it is not known whether this is before or after a destination charge. Keep in mind that the Air qualifies for the full federal tax credit, which, when factored into the equation, brings the price down to less than $ 72,500. The Tesla Model S is no longer eligible for this credit and starts at $ 76,190, including a destination charge of $ 1,200.

We’re still awaiting full performance specs for the base Lucid Air, which will go on sale after the initial batch of High-End Air rolls off the assembly line. Still, we know that even the entry-level Air offers the ability to add 300 miles of range in 20 minutes when plugged into a DC fast charger.

Upgrade to Touring, and you’re looking for a price tag of $ 95,000 before you factor in tax credits and destination. This variant delivers 620 hp, enough to propel the sedan to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds. It is also capable of the quarter mile after 11.4 seconds at 123 mph. The Touring’s range is 406 miles, which puts it close to the Model S Long Range Plus number.

Lucid calls Touring, and next-level Grand Touring, the “heart” of its lineup. With an announced range of 517 miles, the Grand Touring clinches a decisive victory over Tesla. It’s also quite powerful, producing 800 horsepower, a 3.0 second trot at 60 mph, and a quarter mile time of 10.8 seconds at 133 mph. The price? An impressive number of $ 139,000.

But that’s a drastic change from the Dream Edition, the top-performing variant with 1080 hp. Lucid claims the top-of-the-line trim hits 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and covers the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds at 144 mph. These models come with a long list of luxurious appointments, including Bridge of Weir leather, eucalyptus wood, and trim-specific wheels. The prices break the bank at $ 169,000. Compare that to the more expensive Tesla Model S, the Performance variant, which Tesla says hits 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and starts at $ 96,190 including destination.

The 2021 Lucid Air goes into production at the Lucid’s Casa Grande, Arizona plant in spring 2021. The Grand Touring and Dream Edition hit the market early this year, followed by the Touring in late 2021. The model base arrives in 2022.
