Dodge Admits It Doesn’t Care About Road Courses, And Here’s Why

Earlier this month, Dodge organized an all-out SRT assault with its three-part riders – the Challenger, the Charger and the Durango. With a total of 2314 horses coming out of these muscles, there is only one way to describe them: quick.

But there is a criticism that society could not, er, dodge – that Dodge cars are only fast on straight races. Apparently, this is a conscious brand effort, at least according to Tim Kuniskis, director of FCA Passenger Cars.

In an interview with Muscle Cars & Trucks, Kuniskis confirmed that Dodge vehicle variants are largely based on horsepower, rather than what cars can offer in terms of cabin appointments. He went on to say that focusing only on straight line speed is what Dodge customers want.

“What our customers want and the reason we entered space (drag racing) is because seven times as many customers” identify “with drag racing, compared to road racing. That doesn’t mean they’ve ever been to a drag track in their life. And it’s not because they’ve even been in a fast car. It’s because they’ve all been to a stop light, and everyone tried to race with their boyfriend next to them, “said Kuniskis in the interview.

Kuniskis also explained why Dodge cars are relatively similar regardless of their price. Inclusiveness is key, and he wants people to be part of the Dodge family, whether you buy a Challenger 30 or a Redeye 90.

“I want you to confuse a $ 30,000 Challenger with a $ 90,000 Redeye … you don’t just have a Hemi 5.7, you have a Challenger. You are part of this team,” added Kuniskis in his Muscle Cars & Trucks interview.
