We are quickly approaching the one-year anniversary of Chevrolet’s introduction of the 2020 Corvette C8, which took place on July 18. Now, less than two weeks before that date, the official Chevy Corvette Facebook page has shared a short 14-second teaser video that hints at something new for the Corvette for the 2021 model year.
The message says, “It’s time to win new racing stripes,” while the quick teaser hints at what Chevy is. [Corvette’s] inheritance. “However, we have no idea what that means exactly. The teaser shows some stylized images of Corvette with colored stripes crisscrossing the video. There are also four aerial photos of striped Corvettes flashing on the screen. one pair of red stripes while the other has yellow stripes, one blue on white and another that mimics the iconic blue and orange livery of the Gulf.
For as much fanfare as the 2020 Corvette has created, the Stingray model presented by the automaker was just the beginning. We expect Chevy to add more efficient models to the Corvette range, such as the Z06. But we don’t think Chevy is ready to reveal this premium model yet. Instead, we bet Chevy plans to introduce a new appearance package, or packages, that will help improve the appearance of the car. It could be similar to the Chevy Sport Competition package introduced for the 2009 Corvette C6.
We know for certain that Chevy still has a ton of Corvette excitement to reveal in the future. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next Z06, and the many spy photos and videos don’t help. We know it should contain a 5.5-liter flat-bottom V8 that will surpass the Stingray in terms of power, performance, and price. We don’t expect this model to arrive before the 2022 model year, so by then we can look forward to the latest Chevrolet, which the automaker is expected to reveal soon.
