Chase Ends When Man In Stolen SUV Crashes Into Woman In Stolen Car
Some stories would be incredible if there were no legitimate source behind the tale. For example, you would never believe that someone in a stolen car would hit another person who is also behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle. However, this has recently happened in Oregon.
On July 5, police in Newberg-Dundee received a call about a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser, and officers spotted the SUV on the road soon after, according to the police department press release. The driver tried to escape from the cops. During the chase, he crashed into a Buick Regal with an occupant inside.
There were no injuries in the collision, but things suddenly got very strange. The police began to remove the information from the Regal. Upon verification, they discovered that someone had reported the theft of the Buick about three weeks ago. It was a completely independent incident, having nothing to do with a stolen Land Cruiser.
Worse, the police discovered that the Buick driver was intoxicated. The 25-year-old woman was arrested for driving under the influence and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The 27-year-old Land Cruiser driver faces an even longer list of potential charges. The cops arrested him for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempt to escape the police, assault 3 and reckless driving.
In romantic comedy films, there have been more artificial arrangements for bringing two people together than that. Maybe once these two have their legal issues behind them, they should consider spending some time. Looks like they have a lot in common.
In addition, we feel bad for the owners of the stolen Land Cruiser and Regal. Now they have both wrecked vehicles and face the headache of repairing them. Perhaps these people should also sympathize together.
