Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport – the answer to the question “what happens when everything is not enough?” – was previewed in London at an event exclusive to H.R. Owen Bugatti.
The car, limited to only 60 units worldwide, brings technological improvements to the chassis, gearbox and engine compared to the already stratospheric Chiron.
There are new lightweight exhaust pipes made of 3D printed titanium and magnesium wheels to reduce weight – 50 kilograms (110 pounds) have been razed.
The chassis has also been modified and a new gearbox in which all gears have been shortened by 15%. Michelin Sport Cup 2 R tires have also been developed on the road.
All this means that Pure Sport accelerates in sixth gear from 37 to 75 mph (60 to 120 km / h) three seconds faster than the standard Chiron, if you can indeed call a Bugatti “standard”.
While Pur Sport aims for ultimate track performance, its top speed is limited to “only” 218 mph (350 km / h) – we know of course that the Chiron platform has the ability to cross the barrier of 300 mph. Power remains however at 1,500 horsepower from the main model.
“Representing an illustrious brand like Bugatti has always been a privilege for us, and we are honored to be able to offer our customers a unique opportunity to see Chiron Pur Sport in the UK,” said Ken Choo, CEO of H.R. Owen. “Since 1932, H.R. Owen has represented only the best and we are delighted that the manufacturer of some of the most advanced and exclusive cars in the world has trusted us to be their only partner in the UK.”
