The BMW M340i Touring is already very close to defining the perfect car – at least for us. With an output of 382 horsepower (285 kilowatts) and acceleration from 0 to 62 miles per hour (0 to 100 kilometers per hour) in just 4.4 seconds, it’s a hell of a family ride and we can’t think of any way to improve it. Fortunately, the folks at BMW had some great ideas for the M340i Touring First Edition.
Limited to exactly 340 units, the speedy wagon is finished in Frozen Dark Gray and has laser headlights, which are optional for the 3 Series, as well as LED tail lights. The exterior appearance is further enhanced by several glossy black details including kidney grilles, rear diffuser, roof racks and more. A set of 19-inch light-alloy rims with a two-tone, twin-spoke 792 M design, hiding massive red brake calipers, complete the visual upgrades and give the wagon a complete look.
The interior is equally impressive with a mix of two BMW Individual leather upholstery – Silverstone and Fjord Blue, with contrasting Kyalami Orange stitching. There is a First Edition badge and a production number placed just above the glove box on the passenger side of the cabin. The dashboard, center console and door panels all feature an exclusive carbon trim with a lacquer finish.
As previously mentioned, under the hood sits a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 382 hp (285 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm). Power reaches all four wheels thanks to an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system.
The limited edition vehicle is already available to order in select European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, the Middle East, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. You can have it as a Touring wagon or a traditional 3 Series sedan, both of which are limited to 340 units.
