While the coronavirus pandemic is still raging, automakers have rushed the Internet to reveal their new models. The latest to participate in a digital revelation is BMW, which will show its new iX3 crossover Tuesday, July 14. A teaser image of the all-electric crossover accompanies the announcement, although BMW has released several images that show it. last month.
The digital reveal will take place on Tuesday July 14 at 10 a.m. CEST in Munich. It’s 4 a.m. for those in the eastern United States time zone, so bring a cup of hot coffee. BMW will host a live event where it will introduce the iX3 to the world. Production is slated to begin later this summer before going on sale in select markets around the world, except the United States. The 200th pre-production model has recently come off the assembly line.
Leaked footage revealed the exterior design of the crossover months ago, showing a crossover that looked a lot like the regular X3. It featured revised bumpers and blue accents. However, although it shares a design with the conventional offer, the iX3 will not have a gasoline engine. Instead, a single electric motor and a 74 kilowatt-hour battery will produce 286 horsepower (210 kilowatts) and 296 pound-feet (400 Newton meters) of torque, which will be sent to the rear wheels. The estimated range is 273 miles (440 kilometers) during the WLTP test in Europe.
Hints of an all-electric X3 appeared in 2017 when the automaker began a series of trademarks, engulfing everything from the iX1 to the iX9. A few months later, our spy photographers caught the first iX3 test vehicle. The following spy photos have kept the front and rear fascias hidden beneath camouflage envelopes, although we don’t expect significant visual changes from the regular X3. We will know more about the new iX3 next Tuesday when the crossover is officially revealed.
