There are just a few days left before the big reveal of the highly anticipated 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, a truck that targets the Ford Raptor. And with those few days comes another teaser video, made up of a lot of dust, exhaust sounds, but not a lot of seconds. It was quite quick to arrive at the official August 17 reveal at noon EST, with Ram not confirming the reveal until June of this year. What started as a concept in 2016 quickly became a hit and a production model was to be around the corner.
Its main competitor, the Ford Raptor, has gone unchallenged for many years, and it’s great to see another entry spice things up in the rather sterile off-road pickup category. While the video is only ten seconds long, the narrator hints at the acceleration of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, stating that it goes from zero to sixty when hit hard with the exhaust note. The point is, however, that many people quickly figured out (pun intended) the number of seconds between the engine rating and the date revealed, claiming that this could indicate an acceleration time of 4 seconds (or a little more. ). Of course, whether on-road or off-road remains to be seen.

The top Ram 1500 TRX is armed with the Hellcat’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8, which is capable of 797 horsepower (594 kilowatts) in some models. While it might not be that much, we were still hoping for just over 700 hp (522 kW) at the top end, with less horsepower and more affordable choices for those powered by the 5-inch Hemi V8, 7 liters and the 3.6-liter V6.
All models will likely come with an eight-speed auto only. Expect more than capable off-road capabilities thanks to an improved suspension setup, off-road modes, and nifty tech in the form of stability control, throttle sensitivity settings, shift points speed and various feedback parameters.
