700-Horsepower VW Sharan Minivan Is The Family Man’s Sleeper

It’s no surprise that the minivan is a great candidate for a sleeper vehicle. Not only is he traditionally slow and unsightly, his main job has always been to transport people from A to B. As always, we were snoring when we saw the last video of Auto addiction, with a 700 horsepower (521 kilowatt) Volkswagen Sharan VR6 van.

While there isn’t a lot of information given on the engine setup, it certainly looks like a powerful set under the hood. It’s definitely a force to be reckoned with in its next quarter-mile drag race with a 510 horsepower (380 kilowatt) Volkswagen Golf GTI MK.3.

The Sharan’s transformation from a minivan to a straight-line specialist sounds very convincing – without the sporty wheels and tires you couldn’t convince us otherwise. The owners were so attached to the aesthetics of the cross member that they even failed to remove the interior of the plant to remove weight. Semantics aside, the minivan huffed lightly on its blanket as it started to shoot flames out of the exhaust while warming up for the event.

At the time of the race, the initial result was quite predictable. With otherworldly power and torque, the van was compromised out of line, causing the tires to spin for a fortnight before connecting to the tarmac. As the two vehicles set off at nearly identical intervals, the end result was hard to call out as we couldn’t spot at any point, but the VW sleeper drove 149 miles per hour (240 kilometers per hour) in the half mile.

Regardless of the actual speed of this creation, it’s good to know that it undoubtedly puts a smile on the faces of racing fans as they watch it pull away unsuspecting competitors – it’s refreshing to see a car which is clearly designed for fun rather than setting the record. the books are on.
