2022 Genesis G70 Renderings Preview The Forthcoming Facelift
It’s no secret that Genesis has had a facelift with its G70. The rest of the Genesis range already carries the company’s new grille; between the recent spy photos and the leaked photos, we can see that it gets a G80 makeover with dual-headlights and taillights. It didn’t take Nikita Chuyko long on Kolesa.ru to run the photos to create exceptional renderings on the appearance of the updated G70.
Front and center is obviously the large V-shaped grille that plunges into the vent below the base of the fascia. This is already confirmed on the basis of spy plans that we have seen which show the front end discovered. Clever headlights are also confirmed, which we also saw without camouflage coatings. They closely imitate the design revealed earlier this year on the beautiful G80.
Passing into the back of the car, recent spy shots have also provided fodder to create a detailed rear view of the future G70. There is another set of double bar lamps, although the objectives of the G70 do not extend as widely as those of the G80. The oval tailpipes are large and loaded here – they’re too big to be called simply spikes – and they blend well with the refreshed rear fascia of the G70s.
Inside, we expect much less drama. The leaking photos show a familiar G70 interior, although a larger touchscreen is expected with a new steering wheel. New finishing options could also be proposed. The powertrain is still a mystery however – previous reports have suggested that the G70 would get a larger 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, but the leaking aforementioned photos show a 2.0T badge on the back cover. The existing 2.0-liter turbo may remain under the hood, or the larger engine may be available on the North American market.
Right now, we expect Genesis to reveal the G70 revisited in 2021. It will likely appear first on the Korean market, followed later by North American debuts for the 2022 model year.
