2021 Mini Coral Red Edition Hardtops Pays Homage To Rich Heritage
In 1979 Mini had a special 20th anniversary model called The Mini 1100 Special. It had metallic pink or metallic silver paint options, as well as a Clubman-style bumper. It also had a centered black grille and a vinyl roof, colored differently depending on the body color.
Mini wants to pay tribute to this special model with the introduction of the 2021 Coral Red edition for the 2 and 4-door Mini Cooper Hardtop models. For what it’s worth, we dig that shade of red … or pink, it depends on how you see the hue.
“With MINI’s rich heritage of exclusive special editions, the MINI Coral Red Edition is an authentic reflection of that heritage and the classic Mini 1100 Special,” said Patrick McKenna, chief of product and consumer event planning for MINI.
The 2021 Mini Coral Red edition comes with a black roof and side mirror caps. The color itself was adopted from the Mini Clubman models, enhanced with headlamp rings, taillight rings and a radiator frame, as well as badges and door handles front and rear Mini Wings.
Standard equipment includes LED headlights and fog lights, as well as Union Jack LED tail lights. The Cooper Special Edition will also receive 17-inch two-spoke spoked wheels on rails.
Only 300 units of the Mini Coral Red Edition 2021 will be made for the U.S. market and will arrive at dealerships later this month. It is unknown whether this special edition model will reach markets outside of the U.S. Pricing starts at $ 33,275 for the two-door hardtop and $ 34,520 for the four-door counterpart, plus an additional $ 850 for destination and handling.
