2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Caught Undisguised Testing In the U.S.
Hyundai tore the wraps off the updated 2021 Santa Fe crossover SUV in early June. But that was the global model. Thanks to the crisp views of a MotorTrend reader, however, we can finally get our first look at the North American version of the updated Hyundai model.
As you might expect, our version of the South Korean brand’s crossover SUV is nearly identical to the 2021 Santa Fe that the company has already unveiled overseas. This includes the model’s new cup, which features a wide grille topped with new headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights that appear to connect to a set of lamps located near the base of the crossover’s hood.
However, those with keen eyes will notice a handful of small changes to this preproduction 2021 Santa Fe spotted around Palm Springs, California. Notably, this white crossover sports amber side reflectors at the corners of its top lamps – a feature unique to the North American market.
That’s not the only difference, however, as this early-built 2021 Santa Fe also sports a set of 10-spoke wheels that the company barely highlighted in its photos of the South Korean-spec model. Alas, the reader who took those footage couldn’t snag a photo of the revised interior of the reworked Santa Fe. Still, we expect the US model to keep the cabin of its Korean counterpart, which includes a new push-button gear selector, available 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, large power button driving mode on the center console.
Look for the updated 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe to reach dealerships before the end of the year. Until then, we should know a bit more about the updated crossover, including whether Hyundai plans to bring the model’s new gas-electric hybrid powertrains to our shores.
