2021 Ford Ranger STX Special Edition Package Coming With Lots Of Kit
The low-specification 2021 Ford Ranger XL (photos not yet available; FX2 below) will allegedly be able to look a bit more stylish with the introduction of the STX Special Edition Package to the lineup, according to information from Ford Authority. There is no pricing information for this equipment yet.
The STX Special Edition package includes a lot of additional equipment. The truck rides on 18 inch black wheels with machined rims. It comes with all-season tires on 4X2 trucks, all-terrain rubber on 4X4 models, and all-terrain tires with white lettering when combined with the FX4 all-terrain package.
Inside, this package adds dual-zone climate control, privacy glass with rear window defroster, an eight-inch infotainment system running Sync 3 software and SiriusXM satellite radio.
In order for the STX Special Edition to be available, a buyer must get the Ranger XL with the optional 101A pack. The specification of the standard STX appearance package is also required. It includes fog lights, tow hooks, decal on the cargo bed and four-way adjustable ebony black cloth seats.
If these changes don’t suit your taste, Ford is introducing plenty of new Ranger variants. For example, there are three performance enhancement packages that improve suspension, tires, and lighting for enhanced off-road capability.
For an even more rugged Ranger, there’s the new Tremor model (video below) which the company calls “the most capable factory-built Ranger ever offered in the United States.” It rides on 17-inch wheels, 32-inch off-road tires, and a suspension lift to provide 9.7 inches of ground clearance. The modified suspension has increased travel and there are improved shocks. Protective plates protect the base.
