2021 Ford F-150 Pickup Truck to Feature Fold-Flat Seat Bed: Report
Not uncomfortable above the steering wheel, or awkwardly curled up in the back seat, as you can imagine. A “person familiar with the plans”, who declined to be named, told Reuters that the front passenger seat would fold down flat, creating a bed described somewhat like those found in the first class cabin of the passenger planes. It sounds comfortable!
Now Ford isn’t the first company to offer an interior that turns into a bed. There have been many stuffy interiors and misty windows over the years. When Nash was still there, many of their cars had front bench seats that folded down to create a fully interior bed. The perfect feature for families who don’t want to pay motel rates or couples on the go. We don’t judge anyway.
Remember that the powertrains in the new F-150 will also change dramatically, thanks to a new platform that supports electrification. We expect a hybrid option that combines a 3.5-liter V6 with at least one electric motor. We wouldn’t be surprised if Ford also offers a V-8 hybrid option.
The new F-150 will debut on June 25, and we can’t wait to see Ford’s latest salvo in the full-size truck wars going on.
