2021 Ford Bronco Tube Doors Revealed In New Leaked Image

People are already beyond excited for the Ford Bronco, but here’s the trick. We are only in the early stages of this off-road revival. Ford has previously said that a plethora of factory-guaranteed accessories will be available when the SUV hits dealerships. This should allow all kinds of customization for Bronco buyers, and while we don’t have full accessory information, cool tube doors will be one of them.

We’ve seen patents for these tubular doors fitted with airbags, but thirsty Bronco fans on Bronco6g.com have gone further. Enthusiasts found a backdoor in Ford’s Bronco configurator which, among other things, showed us just about all of the Bronco trim levels and color options. We covered the dizzying array of photos last week, but there’s one we missed Muscle cars and trucks picked up – a Bronco with tubular doors.

What’s curious here is that tubular doors seem to appear as part of the Bronco configurator. We don’t usually see accessories like this in a configurator, but then again, we don’t usually see new vehicles pictured with mud and dirt either. This raises the possibility that tubular doors are not an afterthought, but an optional door style. We remember a rumor from some time ago about the Bronco possibly having tubular doors with what amounts to a removable skin, leaving the interior structure in place. Ford still doesn’t talk about accessories or even options in depth at this point, so for now, we’re wondering.

Another point to consider here is the thick vertical assembly at the top of each tubular frame. We’ve already mentioned a patent for airbags in tubular doors, and these structures seem large enough to accommodate them. This is far from official confirmation that the Bronco will have tubular doors fitted with an airbag, but it certainly matches previous rumors about such things.

Of course, it all depends on whether the image is a legitimate Ford capture and not some smart Photoshop work. Sadly, Ford closed the backdoor that allowed all of these footage to surface in the first place, so there’s no way to independently verify this for ourselves. That said, the forum thread it came from was full of photos from the Bronco configurator that were the real deal, and a forum member 72roadster is the same person behind all of these shots, including the one here. In other words, we have little reason to doubt the credibility of this cliché being real.

When will we have full disclosure on tubular doors? At the latest, we’ll find out about that when the Bronco hits dealerships next year.
