The 2021 Ford Bronco will officially debut on July 9, according to an article on the automaker’s official Instagram page. The legend says “07/09/20. The Wild Returns”. A new slogan, “Built Wild”, is also mentioned and clearly a play on the slogan “Built Ford Tough” used for the automaker’s trucks.
Perhaps the biggest new model debut of the year, the Ford Bronco 2021 has had its revelation delayed for some time now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although it is now officially on the July 9 calendar, we expect the whole thing to be virtual for security reasons.
All signs point to the new Bronco being a proven SUV with a body-on-chassis platform, a robust all-wheel drive system and transmissions optimized for off-roading. Expect other innovations like an “overhead roof” and a lot of configurability thanks to the two and four door models.
As for the engines, Ford offers many EcoBoost options, including the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder, which produces 270 horsepower (201 kilowatts) and 310 pound-feet (420 Newton meters) of torque, in the Ranger and the F-150’s 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6, which is good for 325 hp (242 kW) and 400 lb-ft (542 newton meters) of torque. A diesel and / or V8 engine is also possible, but we don’t expect launch either. Meanwhile, transmission choices can include a 10-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual with a “grandmother speed” reduction.
