July 2, 2020, Auburn Hills, Michigan – Dodge, the American performance brand, continues to push the boundaries of the only four-door sports car in the world, presenting the new 797-horsepower Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye 2021 – the sedan the most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.
To put nearly 800 horsepower on the sidewalk, the new Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye has a Widebody exterior with integrated fender flares that add 3.5 inches of body width. The new 20-inch by 11-inch light black carbon wheels run on Pirelli 305 / 35ZR20 tires, giving the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye more tread where the rubber meets the road. A newly designed functional performance hood on both Charger SRT Hellcat models makes this four-door sedan look even more sinister.
“The magic of the Dodge Charger is that it delivers all the performance of a real American muscle car while being able to deliver a family of four or five people day after day,” said Tim Kuniskis, global director of ” Alfa Romeo and Responsible for passenger cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “The Charger is a large, comfortable sedan for five passengers that can cover a quarter of a mile in the mid 10s, 0-60 in the middle of 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 203 mph, and be your daily driver.”
The Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye runs 1.2 seconds faster than the Charger SRT Hellcat on a 2.1 mile course, approximately 7 car lengths after a lap.

Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye has the demon soul
Designed and designed to appeal to muscle car enthusiasts who want even more – more power, more performance and more bragging rights – the heart of the new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye 2021 comes from the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 2018 limited production. The 6.2 liter supercharged HEMI® V8 supercharged offers 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft. of torque and is mated to an eight-speed TorqueFlite 8HP90 automatic transmission.
Internal modifications to the Hell SRT Redeye Charger SRT transmission include an improved torque converter. The Charger Redeye’s torque converter offers an 18% increase in torque multiplication over the standard SRT Hellcat loader.
Like its Demon brothers, the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye’s engine has 25 major upgrades, including a larger compressor, reinforced connecting rods and pistons, a high-speed valve train, a fuel injection system and a improved lubrication.
Compared to the standard SRT Hellcat Charger engine, the Redeye includes:
The largest factory compressor of any production car – 2.7 liters versus 2.4 liters
Boost pressure increase: 14.5 psi versus 11.6 psi
Higher engine limit: 6,500 rpm versus 6,200 rpm
Fuel: two two-stage fuel pumps against one:
At full throttle, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye consumes 1.43 gal / min (5.4 liters / min) of fuel – enough to drain the fuel tank in just under 11 minutes, but is still rated at 22 miles per gallon (mpg) when driven under normal road conditions
Larger induction air box with three intake air sources:
Newly designed functional performance hood
Opening the mail slot grid
Air box opening near wheel lining
Additional features of the Challenger SRT Demon that help the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye achieve its status as the most powerful four-door muscle car:
Torque reserve offers up to 3.9 psi of boost at launch and up to 55% more engine torque
Only factory production sedan with SRT Power Chiller ™ and After-Run Chiller
High-strength steel propeller shafts offer a 15% increase in torque capacity
41 spline half shafts provide 20% increase in torque capacity
Dodge distinctive // SRT design: where form meets ultimate function
The Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye is unquestionably Dodge, with the aggressive, standard Planted Widebody, with 3.5 inches of extra width paired with its wider wheels and tires. The new, larger 20-inch by 11-inch wheels in light black carbon are mounted on large Pirelli 305 / 35ZR20 tires. Pirelli 305 / 35ZR20 all-season performance tires are standard; three season tires are also available.
Beyond its threatening position, the newly designed performance hood of the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye looks even more sinister and provides maximum air intake to the supercharged power plant from the functional hood scoop to increase the power. This hood takes full advantage of the air intake system of the SRT Hellcat Redeye and is sealed to the air box.
The front fascia of the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody includes the mail slot grille, which allows additional fresh air to enter the radiator to help maintain an ideal operating temperature even in the hottest conditions. The side sills connect the front and rear fascias to help amplify the integrated design.
Beat the heat
Heat is the enemy of any high-performance powertrain, so Dodge // SRT designers and engineers have looked for other ways to keep the intake air as close to the optimum temperature as possible.
One of the keys to the engine’s massive power output is air – and plenty. The newly designed functional performance hood on the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye provides maximum air intake to the high-efficiency supercharged power plant.
On the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye, the new functional performance hood, the opening of the mail slot grille and the opening of the air box near the wheel lining combine to give the high-performance engine a 18 percent more air flow than the SRT Hellcat engine (1,134 cubic feet per minute). At full power, it is the flow equivalent to 89 adults emptying their lungs simultaneously in one second.
The innovative and award-winning SRT Power Chiller ™, standard on the SRT Hellcat Redeye only, further lowers the intake air temperature, improving performance. It diverts the air conditioning refrigerant from the cabin to a cooling unit mounted by the cooling pump of the low temperature circuit. The charge air coolant, after being cooled by the ambient air passing through a low temperature radiator at the front of the vehicle, flows through the cooler, where it is further cooled. The refrigerated coolant then flows to the compressor heat exchangers.
Race Cooldown, also an industry first, minimizes the effects of heat, allowing the engine to stay at an optimal operating temperature. When the engine stops, the Race Cooldown function keeps the engine cooling fan and the low temperature circuit cooling pump running to lower the temperature of the supercharger / charge air cooler. The driver can monitor the temperature of the compressor coolant on the SRT performance pages on the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen and know in real time when the compressor is at the optimum temperature for another race. Race Cooldown was first presented on the Challenger SRT Demon in 2018 and became standard on the Charger SRT Hellcat in 2019.
2021 Charger SRT Hellcat range: more horsepower, more technology and more functionality
From 717 to 797 horsepower, Dodge offers the most powerful Charger SRT Hellcat range ever designed for the 2021 model year.
Powered by the 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 supercharged V8 engine, the Charger SRT Hellcat raises the stakes by increasing the waypoints to 6,100 rpm in automatic mode, which gives a power of 10 horsepower, now delivering 717 horses and 650 pounds. -ft. of couple.
Innovative eight-speed TorqueFlite shifting transmission is standard on all Charger models and offers optimized fuel economy while delivering maximum performance with 160-millisecond gear changes and speed adjustment on Charger SRTs Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye.
All 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat models come with standard performance features, including:
Adaptive damping suspension – The Bilstein adaptive three-mode suspension system set by SRT includes: Automatic mode = sporty but compliant driving; Sport mode = firm and maximum handling; Track mode = firm and maximum road holding plus speed change and speed hold function
Braking System – Braking power comes from the standard Brembo braking system with 15.7-inch two-piece front rotors and six-piston front calipers for exceptional heat management, heat capacity and longevity
Electric Power Steering (EPS) – Electric power steering provides a better sense of direction and ease of rotation at parking speeds. It can be calibrated to optimize steering effort for a variety of driving situations via the settings in the SRT performance pages
Launch Assist – Launched on the Challenger SRT Demon as a factory production car, Launch Assist helps solve one of the biggest challenges in cleaning up launches and driveline integrity – the wheel jump, which produced when tires slip quickly and regain traction at launch, quickly storing and releasing energy in the transmission. These high torque peaks can quickly and severely damage the drive train components and, until now, the only solution has been to withdraw from the accelerator. Charger SRT Hellcat models use wheel speed sensors to monitor for signs of tires slipping / sticking. If a jump is detected, the engine control module momentarily reduces torque to maximize traction almost instantly – without the driver having to lift the throttle. Launch assistance reduces the loads in the kinematic chain of the wheel jump by up to 20%
Torque reserve – becomes active when the engine speed exceeds 950 rpm. The system closes the bypass valve, “pre-fills” the intake with boost, manages the fuel flow to the cylinders and manages the spark timing to balance engine speed and torque
Launch Control – Maintains the engine at optimal launch speed and waits for the driver to release the brake. Launch Control then uses engine torque management to optimize wheel spin for maximum acceleration
Line Lockout – Engages the front brakes to keep the loader stationary, but leaves the rear wheels free for a grill to heat and clean the rear tires. The system will also allow the driver to perform a controlled burnout and can engage up to 200 turns of the rear wheel.
Larger induction air box – Sealed on the new functional performance hood for a regular supply of fresh outside air, the air box of the SRT Hellcat Redeye includes an additional inlet near the wheel lining
SRT driving modes – Accessible via the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, drivers can personalize their experience by adjusting power, transmission shift speeds, steering effort, shift paddles, traction and suspension parameters. SRT driving modes offer selectable settings for Street (Auto), Sport and Track. There is also a custom setting allowing the driver to select his individual preferences
SRT Performance Pages – Provides the driver with essential vehicle performance data, including a real-time dynamic graph, g-force heat map, and more
With all of these features, the 2021 Charger SRT Hellcat line offers improved performance and faster quarter-mile time.
