2021 Buick Envision Will Be Cheaper Than Outgoing Model

The 2021 Buick Envision is a radical departure from the outgoing model. Buick combines the spectacular exterior styling of the crossover with a luxurious and technological interior. Early rumors hinted that the new model would see a price increase, but a new report of Cars Direct contradicts this, claiming that the new crossover could cost up to $ 1,700 cheaper than the outgoing model.

According to the post, the 2021 Envision will arrive with an MSRP of $ 32,995 for the Preferred trim, which includes the destination. Not only is this $ 1,700 cheaper than the 2020 Envision Preferred, but the version will now also serve as the entry-level for the model. A cut above Preferred is Essence, which starts at $ 36,995, similar to 2020.

Buck is making a few changes at the top of the Envision lineup for 2021. There will be a front-wheel drive Avenir version that starts at $ 41,395. The upgrade to all-wheel drive sees the price jump to $ 43,195, but that’s still a savings over the $ 44,794 Petrol II trim offered by Buick for 2020.

The new price report, gleaned from a dealership ordering guide and confirmed by a Buick spokesperson, notes that the guide still lists the entry-level 1SV version without any pricing information, even though the post did confirmed with the spokesperson that the Preferred version would be the entry-first level.

Regardless of this minor quirk, Envision 2021 customers are getting a serious upgrade in terms of style and technology. The new Envision is based on GM’s E2 platform that it uses for the Cadillac XT4. The Envision will feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that is expected to produce 230 horsepower (171 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (350 Newton-meters) of torque, transmitting power through a nine-speed automatic.

We’re still awaiting full details of the 2021 Envision, which Buick says will arrive later this year, including more information on the premium and luxurious Avenir version. It is expected to go on sale in early 2021.
