HOLLY, Mich., August 13, 2020 – In honor of Bronco’s 55th anniversary, Ford celebrates the unprecedented response to all-new Bronco and Bronco Sport rugged SUV models with the reveal of five new adventure concepts featuring accessories backed by the factory that make customization easier and more affordable. Ford’s new exterior brand Bronco is also announcing the first Bronco Off-Roadeo location and a return to Baja 1000.

Concepts inspired by the Bronco adventure

Bronco Four-Door Outer Banks Fishing Guide: Designed specifically to support a professional fishing guide along Cape Hatteras National Seashore, this lifestyle concept is based on the regionally inspired Bronco Outer Banks ™ four-door series. On top are a Bestop® Sunrider® first row soft top, factory concept roof rails and crossbars, and a Yakima® LockNLoad ™ Platform roof rack. The SUV uses fender-mounted trail sights to fit a bespoke fishing rod and seat pole to wait for the perfect catch. A Ford Performance modular front bumper and safari bar help navigate rough terrain, while a sliding tailgate provides a great working surface when repairing fishing rods or setting new lures. All-weather floor mats and splash guards complete the package.
Bronco Two-Door Trail Rig: Designed to be the ultimate hardcore trail racer, this custom build is based on the two-door Badlands ™ series. It starts with a Ford Performance modular front bumper, tubular doors, ball-lock compatible wheels and a 40-inch RIGID® LED light bar. A Ford Performance by WARN® winch helps save your less equipped 4×4 friends. In addition, the factory roof rails are complemented by a Yakima Platform roof rack system with brackets for a shovel and a Ford Performance by WARN recovery kit and recovery boards. Inside are sturdy floor mats and a rear table mounted on a swing gate.
Bronco Sport Trail Rig: For adventurers looking to elevate their off-road trekking in a rugged little 4×4, the Bronco Sport Trail Rig amplifies the Badlands Series model by adding 31-inch BFGoodrich ™ Mud-Terrain T / A® KM3 tires. inch, a one-inch lift kit, as well as Ford Performance by RIGID LED off-road lights mounted on a front grab bar. Bronco Sport Off-Roadeo Adventure Patrol: Designed for the upcoming adventure terrains of Bronco Off-Roadeo customers, this Bronco Sport Badlands build is equipped to help out in the wild with its Yakima LockNLoad Cargo platform to hold salvage gear like a high-lift jack, recovery of boards and jerry cans. A Ford Performance by RIGID off-road LED light bar also mounts to the rack system. To support one of the many Off-Roadeo excursions available, this Bronco Sport is equipped with Yakima’s interior bike rack to accommodate two mountain bikes. And to record clients’ adventures, it incorporates a target to land the drone which will be used on the track at Off-Roadeo sites.
Austin, TX is Bronco’s first Off-Roadeo site
The first of four Bronco Off-Roadeo locations will be in the mountainous region of Austin, Texas. Opening next summer, the Bronco Off-Roadeo is available to owners of the Bronco two- and four-door and Bronco Sport Badlands series to get the most out of their rugged SUVs and to connect with the larger Bronco community. Bronco R returns to Baja 1000 this fall
The Bronco R attitude, reflecting the most extreme flavor of Built Wild DNA, is expected to return to SCORE Baja 1000 this year. The racing prototype built by Ford Performance and Geiser Performance continues to serve as a test bed for testing the brand’s innovative design, capacity and extreme durability.
The Bronco R takes advantage of the all-new Bronco four-door chassis, 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost® V6 engine, 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission and on-the-fly electronic 4×4 transfer box. It features an extreme racing version of the high performance off-road stability suspension with independent position-sensitive front shocks, limit switch control and lightning-fast desert ride tuning. Participation in brutal off-road competition is part of the Built Wild Extreme Durability Tests – a series of demanding tests to ensure all Broncos deliver the highest levels of performance, durability and ability to every owner.
